Böhse Onkelz and Wacken – for many fans, these two go together. In 1996 and 2004, the rock band known as the "Onkelz" healined at the Wacken festival, playing a significant role in its success.
One of the biggest concerts in recent years, however, was the band's exhilarating farewell concert at the Lausitzring in 2005. More than 160,000 concert tickets were sold out for the event in just a few days and without any major advertising campaign! A further 80,000 fans had their names on a waiting list for tickets. As well as the Onkelz, Motörhead, In Extremo and Children of Bodom also made appearances at the two-day farewell event.
However, against all expectations, this event did not turn out to be the band's last ever concert, much to the delight of their fans. Nine years later, in 2014, they made a comeback for two more concerts at the Hockenheimring with an unforgettable show for more than 100,000 spectators. In 2015, they made four more appearances over two weekends at the Hockenheimring, which with a total of 350,000 visitors turned out to be the most successful single events in German concert history.
SANI was present as a reliable sanitary partner at all of these appearances. In 2005, we set up the entire infrastructure for 160,000 spectators – including fresh water and sewage systems. The 350,000 fans attending the comeback event in 2015 were also taken care of by our team.
